The Coast Guard Global Summit (CGGS) is a non-binding, voluntary, independent and non-political platform of dialogue and cooperation among the Coast Guards and agencies representing coastguard functions (hereinafter referred to as "the Coast Guards") of the world. In order to deal with the global changes and related challenges as "first responders and front-line actors", it brings together representatives from the Coast Guards to foster inter-regional and international cooperation on a wide range of challenges in maritime safety, security and environmental protection activities as well as human resources development in related activities, seeking solutions to emerging challenges that the world is facing, by sharing expertise and best practices in a cooperative manner.
